Topic: Influence of Sri Lanka
Main idea:
This summer vacation I got a chance to go on a volunteer trip to Sri Lanka and I learned many precious lessons.
1. Expressing love to my loved ones is important because it can better our relationship.
(1) They are many natural disasters in Sri Lanka, the worst one is the flood. Every October to December, they have to move to the emergency agency to hide themselves from the flood. During these time, they might lose their lovers and their houses, do they are not hesitate to convey their love to their lovers.
A. Flood is a serious natural disaster in Sri Lanka. As the result of the drainage is worst and the government is not place important on the improvement, the flood hurt hundreds of residents every year.
B.I met a woman and her sister’s house was drowned in the flood so they have no place to live in. Although her house is small but she still shares her house with her sister. Now there are ten people living in the small house. She told me that’s the way she show her love to her sister. In addition, they often tell their love to each other. Although the space that they have is become smaller but make their heart closer.
(2)After coming back to Taiwan, I tried to show my love for my family and it really brought us closer.
A.I was really shy to convey my love to my family, and I thought that was really shamed to do it. Because of the shame, I never told them how important they are to me.
B.When I came back to Taiwan from Sri Lanka, after passing the custom and saw my mom, I ran to her and hug her to express my missing. At that moment, I thought how lucky I am to stand here and hug the one I love.
C. Now, when I am going to bed everyday, I will hug my parents and sister. I think thhey could receive my love in this way.
(3 It is important because if you don’t show your love, no one is going to know it. Expressing love could make your relationship more intimate.
A. Fmaily members' relationships are really intimate in Sri Lanka, they understand how much they love each other. In order to have such familiar realationship, they express their love in defferent ways. Kids will write cards to their families and adult will show their love with words.
B.Hug the ones you love is a great way to transmit your care. When you hug a person your heat is going to send to her and that's the temperture about love.
2.We used to take everything we have for granted, but being thankful can turn us into more positive people.
(1) Being thankful will lighten up your life.. You will be happy when you are thankful.
A. Being thankful make a world more beautiful. If a person thinks that everyone in the world are unappreciate to you, he will be unhappy everyday.
B.Oprah Winfrey said, ''Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.'' Without being thankful, we would always focus on the things that we are lack of and that's the reason why we are not satisfied.
C. Thank to the one that had ever helped you, thank to everything you have.
(2)In Sri Lanka, Their environment is really terrible, so they have to depend on aids from other countries. Because of it, they are really thankful to the ones who help them. Although their lives are not good enough, they are stiil thankful.
A. I went to Sri Lanka with World Vision so we got a chance to visit the families who are sponsored by Taiwanese. The first thing they told us was always how thankful they are to World Vision and Taiwanese.
B. Every famliy we prepared a gift for them, the gift are contained with some notebooks, pencils and erasers. The moment the recieved the gift, they cried. They told us that they are really thankful thet we could come and concerned them, and they hope we could represent the Taiwanese who are helping them to accept their thanks.
(3)I tried to look at everything with gratitude.The world has become nicer and I am in a good mood every day.
A. Now, I a thankful person. I thank my mom to take care of us every day, I thank to my dad to support me while I am deppress and thank my sister always be my side.
B.If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice. I would keep being thankful and my life would always be bright.
3. Positive thinking will make the world a better place.
(1) Negative thinking will make a person depressed and positive will make a person enjoy life more.
(2)Poor as people in Sri Lanka are, they never give in to their fate because they always look on the bright sides.
(3) Now, I try to have positive thinking and I find that if you are positive and believe that you can do it, the whole world will help you.
