Difference

Mindset difference between us:

Study: There is a very big difference between Taiwanese student and Sri Lanka student. Taiwanese student do not show their enthusiastic about studying but the student in Sri Lanka is totally opposite. They seem education the only key to success, so they study very hard.

Goal: What do you want to be in the future? Doctor! Teacher! Accountant! Most of the children in Sri Lanka already find their goal and know how to achieve it clearly, no matter how young they are. But many students in Taiwan still can not find what they are gong to do in the future.

Positive: Every October to December is the rainy season in Sri Lanka, during these time many places will have flood. Because of the terrible flood they have to move to the emergency refuge to protect themselves and their houses will be drowned. As our view, we think that is a miserable thing, but they told me that they take it easy. In their opinion, they think that they are lucky and happy because their family members are together. That's how they look their life.

Lessons I learned in Sri Lanka

Main Idea:

Because of having a chance to go on a volunteer trip to Sri Lanka, I learn a lot of things from the residents there, and I want to them to everyone.

In Sri Lanka, I learned happiness, love, thankful, dreams and positive.

Outline:

Happiness: Although they are poor but they are happy.

Love: They love their families a lot because og having so many nature disaster they much more cherish each other.\

Thankful: They are really thankful to those who try to help them.

Dreams: They work hard to make their dream come true.

Positive: Never give up, keep going and you will succeed.

 This is a video that record what we did in Sri Lanka.  

Although it was only a short trip but I think it is already become a important part in my life.

In Sri Lanka, we experienced poor,  received thanks and learned about love.

Poor but  happy, that is what we could not imagine.

I had heard a story before.

It is about a rich man and a poor guy.

The rich man has a lot of money and can buy all he wants,  he has nothing lack.

But, he is not happy.And he feels anxious about whether is anyone going to steal his money and that make him can not fall asleep.

At this moment he would hear the poor guy lives next to him singing happily. 

In the other hand, the poor guys has nothing.

He lives in a old and tiny house and work very hard every day.

But he is happy every day.

One day, the rich man meets the poor guy on the street.

The rich man asks the poor guy''Why can you be so happy every day?''

The poor guy replies''Being happy? It's easy, if you could have some meat in a meal it will make me really happy. Being happy is just that you could have a full meal and have a place to live.''

'' Isn't that easy?'' The rich man thought to himself.

So he asked the poor guy to change their identity for a night.

Therefore the poor guy becomes a rich man and having so much meat to eat and a beautiful place to live, but he could not sleep and start to feel anxious.

In the other hand, the rich man becomes poor but finally he has a good night.

The next morning the rich man say to the poor guy that yesterday was his happiest day because he finally can sleep very well!


In this story, a person that he is happy or not is not depend on that he is rich or not.
I complete believe it after I went to Sri Lanka.
Although they are not rich, they has less resources than we have, but they are happy.
That's what we could not buy with money.

They are content to their lot.
